Modern Warfare 3 will have dedicated servers
After the controversy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 not having dedicated multiplayer servers for PC gamers, Activision have confirmed at Gamescom that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will have dedicated servers after all.
This should allow for smoother online gameplay, making the PC crowd much happier. Last year's Call of Duty: Black Ops also had dedicated servers and so there would have been serious questions asked if they suddenly disappeared again for this year's game.
Activision has also discussed their worries over cheating on the PC edition of the game due to it being an open platform. These fears are especially heightened by the fact that the company will be rewarding gamers subscribed to Call of Duty Elite with real-life prizes.
The company is working hard to ensure their concerns over cheating don't come to fruition.
