Today we celebrate the birthday of Shigeru Miyamoto - the creator of Super Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda, Super Mario 64, and other Nintendo franchises.

Miyamoto was a huge player in resurrecting the video games industry during the 80s crash. We may never have seen such effort put into game development during the late 80s/90s if it hadn't have been for this dudes awesome imagination and skill.

Miyamoto's Super Mario Bros. was bundled with NES in America. The game and the system are credited with helping bring the US out of the slump of 1983's game industry crash.
