The game Star Citizen was showed off today at PAX in Boston.

The creator Chris Roberts originally aimed to raise $500,000 through Kickstarter, but ended up with over $2 million. The investments kept coming in until the project was funded by $40 million.

The game runs on Crytek's CryEngine, which explains the impressive graphics. It does not yet have a release date, but the demo today was the playable Dogfight Module (DFM) and set for release soon (about a month).

The game is still in development and will eventually have PvP and PvE elements. Fight against or with other players.
